Privacy Policy

In short
- Your financial data stays on your iPhone, and its automatic backups go to your own iCloud Drive.
- We don't run servers that receive your data, and we can't see it.
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared.
- Payments are handled entirely by Apple.
This policy explains how the Samya app for iPhone (“Samya”, “the app”) handles information. Samya is developed by Naturally Stupid by Vaishali (“we”, “us”).
1. Information you enter
To work as a budget, Samya stores what you enter: months, categories, planned amounts, payments, income, transfers, account and card names, account balances, card bill dates, notes, and optionally your name. Samya doesn't ask for or need your bank login details, full card numbers or government ID.
This information is stored:
- On your device, inside the app's private storage.
- In your iCloud Drive, as daily backup files in a Samya folder, if you're signed in to iCloud and automatic backup is on. They're stored by Apple under your Apple Account. We have no access to them. Apple's handling is described in the Apple Privacy Policy. You can turn automatic backup off in the app.
We don't receive, collect or store any of this information on our own systems.
2. Information we collect
We don't collect personal data. Specifically, Samya doesn't:
- require you to create an account or sign in
- include analytics, advertising or tracking software
- track you across other apps or websites
- access your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone
- read your SMS, emails or bank statements
3. Information handled by Apple
Purchases
Any subscription or in-app purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase is active so it can unlock features.
Crash reports and diagnostics
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and performance data. These don't identify you or include your financial data. You can turn this off at any time.
Face ID and Touch ID
If you turn on app lock, iOS checks your face, fingerprint or passcode. Samya only learns whether the check succeeded. Your biometric data never leaves Apple's Secure Enclave and is never available to us.
4. Features that stay on your device

| Backup and export | Backup (JSON) and export (CSV) files are created only when you ask, and saved or shared wherever you choose. After that, they're handled by the app or service you send them to. |
5. Sharing
We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone, because we don't have it. The only time your data leaves your device is when it is backed up to your own iCloud Drive or you share a file yourself.
6. Retention and deletion
Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete it at any time:
- In the app: Profile › Erase All Data.
- On the device: delete the Samya app.
- In iCloud: delete the Samya folder in iCloud Drive (Files app), or Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Samya › Delete Data.
Deletion is permanent. We can't recover data for you, because we never hold a copy.
7. Security
Your data is protected by your iPhone's built-in encryption and passcode, and by Apple's iCloud security for your backups. You can also add a Face ID or passcode lock inside the app. Keep backup files somewhere safe: they aren't encrypted by Samya and contain your financial records.
8. Children
Samya isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
9. Your rights
Because your data is stored only on your device and in your iCloud, you control it directly: you can view, correct, export or delete it in the app at any time. This applies under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and similar laws elsewhere. If you have a question or concern about privacy, contact us at the address below and we'll reply within 30 days.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how Samya handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes.
